The clock above counts down to Wonder Man, Marvel Studios' first 2026 Disney+ release, premiering January 27, 2026 with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams.
Wonder Man is Marvel Studios' eight-episode Disney+ limited series, marking the MCU's first 2026 streaming release after the 2025 reset that pulled back on overproduction. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Candyman) plays Simon Williams, a struggling actor in modern Hollywood whose ionic-energy powers turn him into the superhero Wonder Man. Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) directs and executive produces, with Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as showrunner.
Ben Kingsley returns as Trevor Slattery, the Mandarin-impersonating actor first introduced in Iron Man 3 and last seen in Shang-Chi. The Hollywood-set framing positions Wonder Man as a meta-commentary on the superhero industry itself — closer in tone to BoJack Horseman or Barry than to the Falcon and Winter Soldier school of MCU TV.
The series is expected to follow Simon Williams' transition from struggling actor to superhero, with extensive Hollywood-industry satire, references to in-universe superhero films, and Marvel's first sustained look at how the MCU's general public relates to its caped class. Episode one premieres January 27, 2026, with weekly Tuesday-night drops.
Wonder Man premieres January 27, 2026 on Disney+, with new episodes weekly on Tuesdays for the eight-episode run.
