What this countdown tracks

The clock above counts down to Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Summer 2027 on Wednesday, July 21, 2027, Samsung's annual foldable and wearables launch event, expected to debut the Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Galaxy Z Flip 9.

About this event

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is the umbrella brand for Samsung Mobile's twice-yearly product launches, with the Winter Unpacked covering the Galaxy S flagship line and the Summer Unpacked anchored on the Galaxy Z foldables. The Summer Unpacked has run since the Galaxy Z Fold launched in 2019 and has grown into the cultural pillar of Samsung's foldable strategy, with each year's Z Fold and Z Flip generation setting the pace for the broader Android foldable market.

The Summer 2027 edition is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Galaxy Z Flip 9 alongside the Galaxy Watch 10 series and Galaxy Buds refresh. Samsung's foldable roadmap through 2027 reflects the maturation of the form factor: thinner profiles, improved hinge durability, larger cover displays, and continued Galaxy AI feature expansion under One UI 10. The 2027 cycle also follows the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (a 4:3 aspect-ratio variant with S Pen support) at Summer 2026 Unpacked, with its successor likely returning.

What to expect

Per Samsung's stated cadence and reporting from outlets like SamMobile, The Elec, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, expect the Galaxy Z Fold 9 to feature continued thinness reductions, an improved Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 4 chip (or its successor), upgraded camera systems, and Galaxy AI features tied to One UI 10's Bixby/Gemini hybrid AI stack. The Galaxy Z Flip 9 is expected to expand its cover display experience with deeper Galaxy AI integration. Galaxy Watch 10 expectations include a refined sensor stack and battery improvements; Galaxy Buds expectations include the next-gen Hi-Fi audio profile.
