The series continues to layer in new match types, refined creation tools, and an expanded Showcase mode. Visual Concepts has held the WWE 2K license since the franchise moved over from THQ in 2013, and the series is the only mainline WWE video game outlet — making each annual release the de facto event for wrestling fans.
